Stimulating the Natural Healing Abilities

Acupuncture is the practice of stimulating specific points on the body, by either needling or electrical impulse, to promote natural healing, control pain and normalize function. Our Physiotherapists and Naturopath use acupuncture as part of specific treatments, and within the scope of their respective practices.

ACUPUNCTURE

Acupuncture is over 3,000 years old, and is associated with Traditional Chinese Medicine. Very fine, sterile needles are placed into relevant areas of the body, and are left in position for up to 20 minutes. Many patients find acupuncture provides some relief immediately, while others find that the pain becomes more manageable after a few treatments. Generally, a minimum of six treatments is recommended.
