Keeping You Healthy and Strong
Back pain, neck pain, and headaches are the most common reasons why
millions of people rely on Chiropractic care every year to help them get back to doing the things they love. Chiropractic treatments can help relieve your pain, restore your level of functioning, or help you get back on the playing field.
CHIROPRACTIC CARE
Chiropractic is a non-invasive, hands-on health care discipline that focuses on treatment and
preventative care for disorders related to the spine, pelvis, nervous system and joints. If aching joints and muscle pain are affecting your ability to get through the day, or keeping you away from your
favorite activities, you should consider chiropractic care. Work, accidents, sports injuries, household chores, and even the stress of daily living, can cause painful joint and spinal problems.
Generally, a minimum of six treatments is recommended.
At Physiotherapy at Don Mills, our Chiropractor is a Primary Care practitioner, and as part of our integrated approach to patient care, provides evidence based and patient centered support. We utilize biomechanical evaluation, manual therapy techniques, education and maintenance exercises to prevent the reoccurrence or future episodes of pain.
Your back or neck pain will initially be assessed to determine if your problem will benefit from chiropractic care. Since not all spine-related conditions respond to an adjustment, alternative therapeutic techniques can be performed. Our Chiropractor works closely with our Physiotherapists and Kinesiologists to maximize and maintain the benefits of the treatments provided.
What is an Adjustment?
An adjustment is a highly skilled and precise movement applied manually by the hands to a joint of the body. An adjustment helps relieve pain and loosens the joint to restore proper movement and optimize function.
The most common conditions treated by acupuncture include:
- Improved movement in neck, shoulders, back and torso
- Relief from headaches, neck and back pain
- Better posture
- Prevention of work-related muscle and joint injuries
- Enhanced athletic performance
- Relief of pregnancy-related back ache
- Correction of gait and foot problems
