Improper biomechanics may be the cause of pain in the ankle, knee, hip, and lower back. Your physiotherapist will assess your foot biomechanics as part of our comprehensive approach to treatment. A computerized gait analysis may be performed to confirm the practitioner’s findings.
If it is determined that you would benefit from corrective orthotics, a cast impression of your feet will be taken. Your cast and prescription are sent to a professional orthotic laboratory where your orthotics are made by qualified technicians.
Custom made orthotics are made for dress shoes, sport shoes, and also to accommodate foot conditions such as diabetic foot.
Many extended health packages include coverage for customized orthotics. Your insurance provider may require a prescription from a physician.
